Velvet is a luscious fabric. It exudes luxury and harkens back to the noble robes of the monarchies. One of the softer materials in the world of fabrics, velvet can be used both on your bod and on your couch. What’s really fun, though, is upholstering a cabinet or a table not just in fabric but in velvet. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Another thing about velvet I love is that it’s a beautiful tufted fabric: the glisten that reflects of that contoured material is quite magical. And it looks good in a multitude of light. In the dark it’s rich and silky and in the light it shimmers and shines. Who doesn’t love a fabric that evolves to its surroundings?! Maximize your velvety interior by using it in color. What could be more romantic than red velvet?! There’s something about this fabric that just makes color pop. And you know what else? It looks real good in our color of the year, emerald!
I love the mix of materials here.
And of course, black velvet is dark, mysterious, gothic and modern all at once.
You could always throw in a little baroque too. Wink.
 Shout out to the Hef.
And thanks to Lana Del Rey, we can enjoy blue velvet on a whole other level.
